Privacy Policy for The Survivor’s Edit

This privacy policy explains how The Survivor’s Edit, published by Weslea O’Connor, handles information connected with this Substack publication.

Information collected

The Survivor’s Edit is hosted on Substack. When you subscribe, follow, comment, reply, purchase a paid subscription, or otherwise interact with the publication, Substack may collect and process information according to its own privacy policy.

As the publisher, I may have access to information Substack makes available to me, including:

• Your email address

• Your name, if you provide one

• Your free or paid subscription status

• Your subscription plan and payment history

• Basic engagement information, such as whether you opened an email or clicked a link

• Comments, replies, survey responses, or messages you choose to send

How your information is used

Your information may be used to:

• Deliver essays and publication updates

• Manage free and paid subscriptions

• Send occasional updates about After the Diagnosis and other related projects

• Respond to messages or questions

• Understand which content is most useful or meaningful to readers

• Maintain and improve the publication

I do not sell, rent, or share subscriber information with advertisers or other outside parties for marketing purposes.

Payments

Paid subscriptions are processed through Substack and Stripe. I do not receive or store your complete credit card or banking information. I may have access to limited transaction details, such as your subscription level, payment status, renewal date, and payment history, as needed to manage your subscription.

Payment information is processed according to the Stripe Privacy Policy and the Substack Privacy Policy.

Substack and other service providers

Substack hosts this publication, manages subscriptions, delivers emails, provides publication analytics, and supports payment processing. Its handling of personal information is governed by the Substack Privacy Policy.

I do not currently use separate advertising pixels or third-party tracking tools on this Substack publication.

Email and subscription preferences

You may unsubscribe or change your email preferences at any time using the links included at the bottom of every email.

Paid subscriptions automatically renew according to the plan selected unless canceled. You can manage or cancel a paid subscription through your Substack account settings.

Data requests

If you have questions about how your information is used or would like to request access, correction, or deletion, contact me at thesurvivorsedit@substack.com. Requests involving information controlled by Substack or Stripe may also need to be directed to those providers.

Children’s privacy

The Survivor’s Edit is not directed to children under the age of 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
